CULT liquorice producer Flyers – part of the Stockley’s Sweets family – has bolstered its range of Sour and Fruity Flavoured Liquorice Sticks with the addition of a new Cherry flavour.

Looking to take a bite out of the recent demand for more nostalgic options from the confectionery aisle, the new Cherry Flyers liquorice sticks feature a chewy liquorice outside with a tangy cherry crystal centre.

Further to this, the firm also reckons the slight sour nature of the cherry filling could potentially appeal to those consumers looking for a more sour option as well to go with the sometimes polarising nature of liquorice sweets.

Each pack comes with an RSP of 99p per pack with seven liquorice sticks in every pack and is also suitable for vegans.

Andy Valentine, spokesperson for Flyers, said: “Flyers remain a fond childhood memory for so many liquorice-loving aficionados; an essential must-stock for any meticulously choreographed sweets fixture.

“Already an impressive rate-of-sale performer, sales really started to snowball once we’d refreshing the packaging (punchier colour schemes, cleaner layouts and improved messaging) and announced the arrival of a tangy cherry, which is so of the moment.”
