Offering the chance for link-up sales in store
COCKTAILS have been in high demand with consumers ever since lockdown, making it a prime opportunity for retailers to drive some link-up sales from the off-trade.
As plenty of shoppers sought to swap the bar for the home, at-home cocktails have been a massive boom for sales over the last few years.
Whether from shoppers who picked up some mixology skills during lockdown or for those keen to try out their own shaker for the first time, this more unique shopping mission presents a key opportunity for retailers to build up link sales.
Typically speaking, a cocktail will need at least three ingredients and being able offer those three items for consumers in one store will not only be highly valued by consumers, but also well remembered, making the store a go-to shop for cocktail making needs.

One such spirits brand keen to build on this opportunity is Disaronno through both its Disaronno Originale and Disaronno Velvet Liqueur variants as the firm has rolled out new cocktail serves as recommendations to consumers to try out for themselves.
Disaronno International reckons the new drinks could help to encourage more link-up sales and drive the overall basket spend, with the drink valued at £18 per bottle and is available across Waitrose stores.

The first of these is the Disaronno Velvet Batida, which makes use of the Disaronno Velvet Liqueur variant, which offers consumers a tropical taste for the summer months through the Italian liqueur’s more creamy variant.
