Sugar confectionery manufacturer Swizzels has updated the look across its Minions Squashies sweets in time for the franchise’s new movie Despicable Me 4.

SUGAR confectionery producer Swizzels has updated the look across its Minion’s-themed Squashies packs in time for the latest film in the franchise, Despicable Me 4.

Initially launched in 2022 in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, the Minions Banana & Blueberry Squashies have taken inspiration from the latest film with updated characters across the packs.

The bags now feature three different Minion character designs and come in 120g bags as well as in 110g price-marked packs with an RSP of £1.15.

Swizzels reckons the updates to the range will allow retailers to take advantage of the latest film’s release, which hit cinemas across the UK on Friday 12 July.

Further to the updated Squashies range, Swizzels also offers an expanded Minions range of branded sweets including its Tropical Chew Bars hanging bags, the Tropical Fizz Individual Chew Bar and Minions Sherbet Dip.

To coincide with the launch of the film, Swizzels has also kicked off an engaging social media campaign which is set to run across the summer months. The confectioner said it will target consumers with over 25million opportunities to see the content, which will also offer shoppers a chance to win a holiday abroad of their choice.

A spokesperson for Swizzels said: “Initially launched in 2022, the Minions Banana & Blueberry Squashies have steadily grown in popularity, proving lucrative for retailers.

“This success has prompted Swizzels to evolve the packaging in time for the latest film’s release, now featuring three different Minions character designs.

“Retailers and wholesalers can maximise sales with vibrant seasonal displays provided by the sweet maker, themed around Illumination’s latest film in the world’s most successful animated franchise.”
