SPAR Scotland has kicked off the summer in style with a Summer Party in its Spar Garthamlock store for the school holidays.

Held in the store on 28 June from 2pm to 4pm, school children kicked off their summer holidays with giveaways, discos and dancing at the Spar store.

The first sixty lucky customers who arrived from 2pm onwards received £5 vouchers at the till, while neighbours up to a mile from the store had received a voucher of £10 off a £25 spend, which was only redeemable on the day.

The Spar Scotland spinning wheel made its return as well, with queues around the store taking the chance to win some Spar branded items, vouchers or goodies from suppliers including Barista Bar and Irn-Bru.

The Healthy Living Programme also took part in the day, helping to engage with customers to provide insights into healthier lifestyles while giving away info packs and goody bags.

Visitors also had the chance to sample the new Brownings The Bakers Tartan Army Pie as well as hot food from Rollover and slices of the new pizza from CJ’s, Spar Scotland’s own food-to-go brand.

Stephen Brown, head of food-to-go at Spar Scotland, said: “We were excited to offer samples of our CJ’s products and new pizza to give our customers a taste of what we have to offer.

“It was important for us to connect directly with the community and showcase the quality and variety of our food-to-go range, whether it is for breakfast, lunch or a delicious afternoon sweet treat.”

Further to this, Spar Scotland continued its ongoing support of local communities across the country with multiple £500 donations made to three local community groups at the store party.

These included Imagine That Performing Arts, Glasgow Athletic Football Club and Rhythmic Dance Studio to support their activities.

Dancers from the Rhythmic Dance Studio also stopped passersby and shoppers in their tracks on the day to watch their dance routine.

Natasha Dick, senior marketing executive at Spar Scotland, said: “We were thrilled to host this summer party at Spar Garthamlock. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community, offer great giveaways and support local charities.

“We are grateful for the continued support from our customers and delighted to celebrate with them to kick off the summer holidays in true Spar style.”
