Two expressions join the revamped whisky range
SPEYSIDE whisky brand Speyburn has unveiled its refreshed collection of whiskies alongside a double launch of new drams.
Touted as the next exciting chapter for the 126-year-old distillery, Speyburn has unveiled three expressions as part of its new packaging collection, two of which are completely new additions to the brand.
These two include a Bourbon Cask and a Rum Cask Finish which join the award-winning 10-year-old expression in the line up to form Speyburn’s new core range.
The Bourbon Cask (ABV 40%) has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and offers drinkers a single-malt with tasting notes of green apple, citrus and honey. This dram also marks the first time Speyburn has launched a whisky without outer packaging in a bid to continue the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Meanwhile, the Rum Cask Finish boasts a two cask maturation with ex-bourbon barrels before finishing in rum casks to create the 40% ABV liquid. The palate boasts flavours of tropical fruits, creamy coconut and spiced vanilla.
RRPs for the two new additions sit at £25 for the Bourbon Cask and a higher £32 for the Rum Cask Finish.
The collection of three whiskies showcase the brand’s striking new design, featuring a range of eye-catching colours as well as more prominent branding.
The new packaging will also be introduced across Speyburn’s higher aged expressions including the 15-Years-Old as well as the 18-Years-Old later this year.
Euan Henderson, distillery manager at Speyburn, said: “At Speyburn, we have always prioritised simplicity, quality and good value. For over 126 years, we’ve crafted whisky with nothing but enjoyment in mind and I’m proud to say that the same is true of our new range.
“Not only do these new whiskies offer something for existing Speyburn fans to enjoy but will also appeal to a new wave of Speyburn drinkers. Speyburn Rum Cask Finish in particular is different to anything we’ve ever done before, and I can’t wait to hear what Speyburn fans think of this new release.Â
“The refreshed packaging perfectly complements the new range and it’s been great to see it all come together. I could tell you everything that I like about the new collection, but I prefer to let the whisky do the talking.”
