SHOPFITTERS Vertex Scotland is highlighting the benefits to retailers of revamping their stores through its recent project at a Day-Today store.

Stevie’s shop on Beeches Road, Duntocher, Clydebank, has increased in size from 122 to 178sqm thanks to the building of an extension and removal of internal load-bearing walls.

The refit includes an 18sqm “Beer Cave” and a 300% increase in space for the fresh food, soft drinks and frozen categories.

Vertex also installed a self-service food to go area with coffee, slushies and the likes of hotdogs, as well as a served FTG area with pies, cakes and ice cream.

The shop now features modern light concrete and wood tones, matched with a black ceiling and lighting to showcase products.

Stevie’s was able to stay open throughout the eight-week project – operating out of the newly built 50sqm store room.

Spar Scotland revamps Kilwinning store

SPAR Scotland has completed its latest facelift of a company-owned store – with the shop on Baird Avenue, Kilwinning, Ayrshire, reopening to shoppers on 18 April.

The refurbishment, which started in September last year, saw the store taken back to the brickwork to optimise space and flow.

Customers can now enjoy an even wider selection of products and services, including a new CJ’s food to go area.

New technology includes electronic shelf edge labels and promotional digital screens. The eco-friendly refit also has chilled and frozen cold rooms.

The grand reopening celebration will take place tomorrow (2 May), with special promotions, giveaways, and more for customers to enjoy.
