THE GroceryAid Scotland committee volunteers have been working hard to prepare Christmas hampers that they hope will raise thousands of pounds for the charity.

The team has been sourcing products to fill the hampers and are now seeking to send them to businesses so that they can be raffled to grocery and convenience industry colleagues during this month and December.

And the hampers are far from ordinary as many contain “Golden Ticket” experiences that this year include Hydro, Edinburgh Tattoo and UEFA Champions League tickets.

There are also golf experiences, family days out, overnight stays, vouchers and more. The team is set to distribute 75 hampers, with the aim of each one fetching more than £500.

The organisers have highlighted the fact that the hampers provide the opportunity for brands to gain exposure in the Scottish trade.

Businesses or individuals who want to support the project by buying raffle tickets for this year or getting involved in 2024’s hamper project are urged to email Emma Thomas – emmajane.Thomas@sainsburys.co.uk – or Marc Gardner – marc.gardner@mccurrach.co.uk.

Sainsbury’s Thomas, who has led the project, said: “There’s been a lot of work involved in producing this year’s premium Christmas hampers.

“I can’t thank enough the businesses across the country who have donated products and ‘Golden Ticket’ prizes, and agreed to take hampers to be raffled off to colleagues.

“This project is so important in raising much-needed funds and continuing to raise awareness for the fantastic work GroceryAid does in support of colleagues in our industry.”
