Two new £1 PMPs join the Golden Wonder sharing bag range
THE Tayto Group has taken its Golden Wonder brand in a Mega expansion with two new additions to its £1 PMP range.
Golden Wonder Mega Rings come in the brand’s popular £1 PMP sharing bag format, sticking to Tayto’s price promise, in two new flavours with Mega Onion Rings and Mega Spicy Rings.
Further to this, the two new flavours have been baked instead of fried with this also promoted on packs.
The two new additions to the Golden Wonder line up are set to be popular ones, continuing the expand the brand’s £1 price point format which Tayto reckons will sit well with consumers, especially when food inflation still remains at a stubbornly high price.
According to a Norstat survey of 2,137 respondents from January 2023, 64% of consumers said they would be willing to switch down to brand that offer a lower price, making the entire Golden Wonder PMP format a lucrative option for retailers, Tayto said.
Further to this, Circana Market Advantage data has reported that £1 PMPs have been driving sales in the snacks category for the last four years now, making up almost half of the total crisps and snacks sales in the UK’s symbol and independent stores. This also shows that the format is still a money maker for convenience even outside of the current financial crisis.
And this latest launch will help to deliver for retailers too, the snacks firm reckons, as it recommended store owners to make sure they stock up on the new releases to avoid missing out on the chance for a “share of Mega Sales and Mega Profits.”
