Kopparberg aims to bring in a younger generation of drinkers to the ginger beer subcategory with its new launch.

SWEDISH drinks brand Kopparberg has expanded on its growing line up of alcoholic drinks with Kopparberg Orange Ginger Beer.

Available in Tesco stores now with a further roll out set for Asda in May, the new Kopparberg orange flavoured alcoholic ginger beer comes in a 500ml bottle. The fiery new addition comes in at 5% ABV

Looking to blend together the spice of ginger and the sweetness that comes from citrus, Kopparberg said the new ginger beer will be perfect for sipping on a warm summer day or pairing up with some spicy cuisine.

The new launch aims to cover the growing consumer demand for experimenting with new flavours across the off-trade, allowing shoppers to try out something beyond other tried and tested drink options, Kopparberg said.

And the new launch could be on the money for the summer ahead as IRI Marketplace data found that sales for alcoholic ginger beer options increased threefold in the year to June 2022 with Kopparberg aiming to push up some sales here with younger generation drinkers.

Rob Salvesen, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said: “We are really excited by the category and think we add something special in our understanding of younger consumers and flavour trends.

“The ginger beer category has been stagnant for some time with little innovation and excitement – we want to drive excitement into the category and, with the brand, bring a new audience.”
