CHIPS brand McCain has doubled its 2023 donation to a leading UK family charity to £600,000.

The manufacturer announced the £300,000 boost for charity partner Family Fund after research showed 92% of families with disabled children were struggling with household bills.

It is hoped the additional budget will help families who are disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis by providing 150,000 grants and services.

McCain launched a national prime-time broadcasting advertising campaign early last month to promote the work Family Fund does to support those raising disabled or seriously ill youngsters.

Mark Hodge, marketing chief for the firm, said: “As a family-owned business, we believe all families should be able to enjoy the little moments that matter together, such as mealtimes.

“It’s incredibly important to us that we play our part and help alleviate some of the current strain, and we’re happy to do this through this additional donation.”
