LANARKSHIRE-based family business Bells has struck a deal to put its Scotch pies on the shelves at Marks & Spencer.
Ronnie Miles, managing director at Bells Food Group – which makes 15m Scotch pies a year – said: “Bringing our best-selling Scotch pies to Marks & Spencer is a milestone for us and has topped off our 90th anniversary year.
“Marks & Spencer is a favourite with Scottish families, much like our pies.
“We know that our customers will be thrilled to see them on the shelves.”
The pies are now available at 61 Marks & Spencer foodhalls across Scotland.
Based in Shotts, Lanarkshire, Bells Food Group is a third-generation Scottish family business established in 1931 and employing over 200 people across three sites.
Across its range, the firm sells 35m pies each year and has calculated that its sales equate to 10% of the Scottish population eating at least one of its pies every week.
Miles added: “Bells Food Group is Scotland’s leading pie and pastry manufacturer and has been proudly serving the nation of Scotland for generations. We are Scotland’s number one pie brand and number two take home food brand.”
