New format to appeal to hygiene conscious shoppers
BITE-sized confectionery is the name of the game when it comes to the latest launch from Perfetti Van Melle (PVM).
The firm has launched a new ‘Mix of Minis’ range, which puts three of its top brands into a miniature format.
Fruitella, Mentos and Chuppa Chups are all included in the new range, which comprises 200-piece cases of individually wrapped lines to be sold at 15p each or as part of a ‘4 for 50p’ promotion.
PVM reckons that with growing hygiene concerns fuelled by the pandemic, the miniature format will appeal to consumers who may have concerns around unwrapped confectionery and sharing.
The Mix of Minis range is available through the wholesale channel now. PVM’s loyalty scheme will also be adding Mix of Minis trays to its offer later this year for new and existing members and the firm aims to site and signpost the format in 5,000 stores by the end of 2021. Sarah Elmer, brand manager at PVM, said: “Our new ‘Mix of Minis’ range was launched to help retailers reinvigorate Pick & Mix offerings after a tough year for unwrapped confectionery, by offering fantastic value for money in a vibrant, innovative format. We work to continuously provide more ways for shoppers to enjoy our brands that they know and love.”
“We’re also looking to build on the great progress we’ve made in our sustainable journey following our Fruittella plastic-saving initiative earlier this year.
“The fully recyclable product packaging means we’re able to continue to deliver on our commitment to becoming a more sustainable supplier whilst still maintaining the high product quality our customers have come to expect from us.”
