CONSUMERS are not willing to settle for a lesser quality snack, even when they are on the go, according to Bert Croll, sales director at Lees of Scotland.
Lees has found demand for snacks in growth in the convenience channel over the last year.
Croll said: “We have seen strong sales of our individually wrapped confectionary bars, such as our Macaroon, Tablet and Raspberry Coconut Ice bars.
“We also offer multipacks of the individually wrapped bars for those looking to stock up on snacking options for lunch boxes.”
A recent launch from Lees is Mini Meringues in raspberry and caramel varieties.
The meringues contain no artificial flavours or colouring and are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.
Croll added that with many supermarkets having designated free-from sections, it is important for c-stores to ensure that they’re not left behind when it comes to ever-changing consumer trends.
Lees is anticipating a rise in demand for snacking products as the picnic season draws nearer.
