Nemi Tea offers employment for refugees

Nemi’s expansion brings more work for refugees

A London-based tea company has been on an expansion drive, while offering employment opportunities to refugees living in the UK in the process.

Nemi Tea was launched in 2016 with the goal of providing refugees with a route to employment.

Offering a range of whole leaf tea blends, available in loose leaf or eco-friendly biodegradable tea pyramid formats, Nemi initially employed refugees to man its tea stalls.

Success for the business has fuelled expansion, opening up more opportunities for refugee workers across the supply chain.

Nemi was also recognised for its quality at the Speciality New Foods New Producer Awards 2018, where it claimed the top spot in the ‘Mission-Driven’ category.

The Speciality Foods New Producer Awards aims to celebrate ground breaking companies pushing food and drink innovation. This year the awards ceremony will merge with The Food Talk Awards to form The Future Food Awards.
