GIN may make headlines but rum has undergone its own evolution in recent years, with enough NPD to keep consumers on their toes.
Nusa Caña, the latest rum to join the UK market, comes all the way from Indonesia and is made using traditional distilling methods.
The brand’s co-founder Marc Rodrigues said: “We’ve forgotten that sugar cane originates in SE Asia and was taken from here to the Caribbean and elsewhere.
“To bring it back in a serious way, I assembled friends and industry experts to launch Nusa Caña, to take the story of Indonesian rum to the rest of the world.”
