THE rising demand for vegan and vegetarian products has seen Quorn open the world’s biggest meat alternative production facility in Billingham, County Durham.
It will allow the meat alternative firm to add approximately 20,000 tonnes to its production per year.
The £150m investment in the new production facility comes after Quorn Foods’ recorded its strongest ever year of growth, with plans to become a billion-dollar business by 2027.
Quorn Foods chief executive Kevin Brennan said: “We have seen our business grow by 16% in the last year.”
