Ferrero will give one retailer a store revamp

WE often hear of the great benefits retailers gain by giving their store a revamp, but finding money to invest in new fixtures or fittings can sometimes be easier said than done.

However, for one lucky retailer Ferrero has the answer, as the confectionery giant has launched a new competition offering the chance to win a store makeover worth £4,000.

The Christmas transformation will be focused on community, with Ferrero intending to work with the winning store to tailor the prize to best cater for the needs of their local area.

Ferrero reckons that community engagement is crucial for c-stores to distinguish themselves from supermarkets, with 81% of independent retailers engaging in some form of community activity in the past year.

To enter the competition, retailers must be a member of the Ferrero trade hub ‘Your Perfect Store’ – a scheme that provides retailers with tips, insights and planograms to make the most of their confectionery offer.

The firm said that becoming a member would unlock a host of opportunities, from bespoke competitions to tailored POS, as well as the chance to be selected as Retailer of the Month.

Levi Boorer, customer development director for Ferrero, said:  “We know how hard retailers work throughout the year and this competition is our way of giving something back to them and their local community.

“As documented year-on-year in the ACS Local Shop Report, the convenience store is one of the top three outlets to have the most positive impact on the local area.

“Through this latest campaign, we want to not only help the winning Your Perfect Store member to drive sales in the lead-up to Christmas, but also enhance community spirit with a few surprises to delight their customers.”

In addition to the store makeover, the winner will also receive three cases of Ferrero Rocher and three cases of Grand Rocher.

Retailers who are already members of Ferrero’s Your Perfect Store programme can log into the membership area and apply from there.

Ferrero has also been gearing up for Christmas with the launch of festive NPD. New Thorntons Pearls and a Cheeky Elf figurine have hit shelves in time for Christmas. The firm recently launched a new TV campaign for Nutella.
