RETAILERS have until the end of this month to submit their application for a grant of up to £7,500 to beef up their food to go offer.
The Scottish Government has ear-marked £250,000 in capital investment to support independent grocers who wish to expand their FTG footprint, which can be accessed through a fund administered by the Scottish Grocers’ Federation.
Grants will be awarded to retailers for the installation of a new food-to-go station on a 50% match-funding basis, capped at £7,500. Multi-site retailers may only make one application per company in any 12 month period.
Applications for support can be found at the SGF’s website, and retailers must get their forms in by no later than 30 April.
To be eligible, retailers must ensure they offer locally sourced products within FTG as well as a balance between consumer-led choices and healthier eating options.
