RTD lactose-free coffee rolling out

HIGH street coffee brand Starbucks has reformulated its ready-to-drink Chilled Classic Skinny Latte, making the flavour suitable for consumers with a lactose intolerance.

The reformulated flavour is made using lactose-free milk and includes no added sugar.
The Starbucks Chilled Classic Skinny Latte is made using Fairtrade Arabica coffee beans and is said to contain only 77 calories per cup.

A spokeswoman for Arla foods, the firm behind the Starbucks ready-to-drink chilled range, said the Skinny Latte is the perfect drink for customers looking for a delicious cold coffee whilst on the go.

“Offering a no-added-sugar option in its ready-to-drink range is another way Starbucks can offer more light choices for consumers, and echoes Starbucks’ January 2016 commitment to reduce added sugar in indulgent beverages by 25% by the end of 2020,” she said.
