PLANS to reward five Nisa stores with cash to donate to local good causes had to be changed to triple the number of prizewinners because so many good entries came in.
All of the winners received £1000 for good causes as part of the wholesaler and symbol organisation’s Shop Local Campaign. And three of the winners were north of the border: Kinnaird’s Nisa Local, Dalbeattie, in Dumfries and Galloway; D&M Fraser, Thurso, in Caithness; and Nisa Local, in Lochgelly, Fife.
Described as “a special wee shop that Dalbeattie couldn’t do without” was Kinnaird’s Nisa Local in Dalbeattie, whose nominator said: “The store has the most helpful staff and managers of any of our local shops. Nothing is too much bother, they are always willing to go the extra mile and get products in for you if they don’t stock them. They are always looking out for their customers, young and old, they love helping local charities and there are always information TVs and boards up so we can see what is going on in our town!”
