AROUND 35% of adults in the UK are choosing popcorn over other snacks thanks to its lower calorie count and high fibre content, says Tony Goodman, CEO of Yumsh Snacks, owner of the Ten Acre brand.
He added: “Snacks which are free-from, particularly gluten free, and plant-based are in demand.”
• Sarah Brown, senior brand manager for Yushoi Snapea rice sticks says there is great diversification in the snacks category with the launch of new innovative products, many of them suggesting they are healthier than other snacks.
She said: “Better for you has become an essential part of the fixture as consumers have increasingly considered their diets.”
