WATER is the fastest growing soft drink category in the UK according to Highland Spring. Quoting figures from Zenith International, it says it is now the largest supplier of plain bottled water in the UK.
Head of brand marketing Andrea McQuaid said: “Supplying almost 421m litres annually, we have a 19.1% volume share of the UK unflavoured bottled water market and produce one in every five litres sold.”
Highland Spring says that on-the-go drinks are a key profit driver throughout the year and its 500ml PET bottle and 750ml sportscap are increasingly popular.
McQuaid added: “Consumers prefer on-the-go drinks to be chilled so have a range of single packs in the fridge. Make sure your chiller is near the entrance – the highest footfall area.”
