AHEAD of summer, Guinness, the Diageo-owned Irish beer brand famous for its dark black stout, branched out with the launch of Guinness Golden Ale.
The latest product of the Brewer’s Project, which is based at the brand’s Dublin brewery, aims to play a part in the premium bottled ale sub-category. Guinness says premium bottled ales sales are growing ahead of total beer and are forecast to double by 2020.
Guinness Golden Ale joins the recently launched Guinness Dublin Porter and Guinness West Indies Porter in The Brewers Project portfolio.
A spokesperson said: “Through the Brewers Project, we hope to continually delight consumers with new beers that share core Guinness attributes of quality, taste and character.
“We’re not changing the originals, just broadening the shoulders of the brand to appeal both to new and existing consumers across a wider range of occasions.”
