INDEPENDENT food and drink wholesaler JW Filshill will showcase its new range of Scottish craft beers for the convenience market at its spring trade show at Glasgow’s Hampden Park on Tuesday, 12 May.
The wholesaler’s Craft
Beer Clan of Scotland division has brought together a collection of nearly 40 craft beers from 19 breweries across Scotland.
Ian McDonald, Filshill’s sales and marketing director, said: “The Craft Beer Clan has worked hard to create an outstanding portfolio of quality craft beers from breweries around the country and we’re now in a position to offer independent retailers a lucrative USP given the category offers a high margin.”
As part of its strategy to attract new users and women to the craft beer category, the wholesaler is offering smaller 33cl packs.
“Our research tells us that the bigger 50cl bottles don’t always appeal to people trying a new beer for the first time and that a smaller pack is more likely to encourage trial,” said McDonald. “We see the smaller pack as a more female-friendly format for the convenience sector.”
