A sweet taste of America is becoming increasingly popular on this side of the Atlantic according to Eurofood Brands, the distributor of the Hershey’s and Reese’s ranges in Britain.
Brand manager Shane Angus said the US chocolate confectionery lines, led by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, had seen sales growth of between 40% and 50% for the last four years.
And the brands’ owner, the giant US confectionery firm Hershey, is set to trial UK TV advertising later this year. An exercise will run in a region south of the border with the intention of activity being extended across the UK if the trial meets its objectives.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bar and other products are now distributed through wholesalers, cash & carries and specialist confectionery wholesalers and are increasingly represented on multiple grocers’ shelves.
