VALENTINE’S Day is an occasion where couples or groups of friends often gather for parties or nights in, says Emma Heath, marketing controller at Sourz.
And many young adults want to make drinks at home that they have when they’re out on the town, she argues.
Sourz sees “shot-tails” – drinks that include different coloured ingredients layered in a shot glass – as increasingly popular with young adults and, Heath says, they’re easy for consumers to make at home.
A different shot-based mixed drink that she says is especially suitable for Valentine’s Day is Sourz Raspberry with Cava or Prosecco.
“It pays to have these products located next to each other, and use some simple point of sale to maximise the chances of an impulse purchase,” she said.
Away from the alcohol area, displays of love-heart decorations, paper tableware, and plastic party props and glassware help encourage the party spirit and provide opportunities to make extra sales, she added.
