TAKE care Nike, Adidas and Puma: drinks brand Um Bongo could be the latest must-have logo to have on running or cycling kit.
Its adult-sized performance cycling and running tops, made under licence by Scimitar Sports, have proved so popular that Um Bongo is releasing a children’s version.
James Logan, commercial director of Refresco Gerber, which supplies Um Bongo in Britain, said: “Um Bongo is all about fun and enjoyment. Since it was successfully relaunched in 2013, the brand has proved hugely popular with 18-40 year olds and attracts a Facebook fanbase of 20,000 active followers.
“Cycling and running are both pastimes enjoyed by this age group, making Um Bongo a natural fit.”
The junior sizes will be launched later this month.
The shirts are available online from www.scimitarsports.com. And the company expects a national retailer to begin stocking them soon.
