THE enlarged Costcutter Supermarkets Group, which added Mace stores to its list after agreeing a joint buying operation and new distribution arrangements with Palmer and Harvey, is cutting the number of brands in its symbol portfolio.
The premium, fresh-food-led myCostcutter fascia will go as the organisation cuts back to three core symbols.
On a course that the firm says is set for five years, its three brands in Britain will be Costcutter, Kwiksave and Mace
In Northern Ireland the Mace brand will be known as Supershop.
The group says a “premium version of the Costcutter brand” will also be available for retailers where location and demographics require a higher specification. It will replace the myCostcutter brand and stores will be redeveloped with the new brand.
Richard Coates, marketing director for Costcutter Supermarkets Group, said: “All of the brands will continue to focus on serving their communities but will each have their own brand propositions and personalities.
“Costcutter, Kwiksave and Mace give us the flexibility to meet retailers’ needs whether they are forecourt, neighbourhood, high street, supermarket or CTN stores.”
