IN the summer First Drinks launched price-marked 35cl packs of Grant’s Family Reserve Scotch whisky and Three Barrels VSOP French grape brandy exclusively to the convenience, specialist and wholesale channel.
Company research had found that 70% of shoppers view price-marked packs to be a promotion, driving impulse sales as consumers increasingly look for value. The research also showed that 72% of 35cl shoppers only buy that size, highlighting shopper loyalty and spending habits.
John Moore, business unit director at First Drinks, said: “Blended Scotch whisky and brandy are both in the top five spirits categories in the off-trade and continue to perform well.
“We believe this initiative will help further boost blended whisky and brandy sales as well as introduce new, price-conscious consumers into the categories.”
