The relaunch will also see two new festive variants roll out in the range to tap into Christmas sales.

The limited edition festive options bring the same Galaxy chocolate cake bar but with a zesty orange filling for one, and a salted caramel layer on the other.

The range is available across Booker, Co-op and Spar for the convenience channel and has also rolled out across Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Spar with an RRP of £2.50 for the core range, and £2.75 for the festive flavours.

All variants come with five cake bars in every pack, with each of the bars individually wrapped as well to help maintain freshness.

Kerry Cavanaugh, general manager at MD&T, said: “The Ambient Cakes category continues to go from strength to strength, and cake bars remain a firm favourite with shoppers. We believe that bringing our popular cake bars back to a booming category will excite existing shoppers and attract new Galaxy, Maltesers and Milky Way fans.

“The return of our festive flavours in limited edition packaging will keep that momentum going into the festive season.”
