Eden Mill aims to match cocktail demand with limited gin
ST ANDREWS-based distillery Eden Mill has unveiled a new limited edition gin that the distiller has touted as being ideal for making the Negroni cocktail with.
The new Winter in St Andrews limited edition gin boasts flavours of warming blood orange, cinnamon and clove to deliver a spiced element to the classic Negroni served that will complement the sweet vermouth and Campari mixed in.
Eden Mill Winter in St Andrews is available across selected retailers as well from the distiller’s website now with a price of £32 per bottle, with only 500 bottles of the spirit available.
The release follows on from Summer in St Andrews, the distillery’s limited summer gin which boasted flavours of lemon, rhubarb and local berries to deliver a true experience of the town’s summer months in a bottle.
Hamish Maclean, senior brand manager at Eden Mill, said: “Summer in St Andrews showed us there is a real appetite for small, seasonal releases that capture moments in this special town. Winter in St Andrews is an ode to the shorter days, warmer flavours, and gathering round loved ones with a warming drink as the sun sets.
“Blood orange is a natural partner for the Negroni – bittersweet citrus merges with the Campari and the cinnamon and clove carry through the vermouth. To my taste, it’s rounder and warmer than the classic, and a serve we’ll be pouring at the distillery bar all winter long.”
