Loch Lomond Group celebrates one year of Luss Distillery

SCOTTISH spirits firm Loch Lomond Group (LLG) has celebrated the one year anniversary since it opened the doors to its Luss Distillery site on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Launched by the distiller in October 2025, the location has since welcomed more than 55,000 visitors through its doors and played host to nearly 5,000 tastings and tours within its first year of operation.
While the location officially opened its doors in October last year, Luss Distillery welcomed First Minister John Swinney to its official opening ceremony in January 2026 where he formally launched the location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Since opening, LLG gas moved the entire production of its Ben Lomond Gin brand to the shores of Luss and has welcomed groups from around the globe to sample this and its Loch Lomond whisky brand with guests coming from the United States – who made up 8% of all visits – Germany, Netherlands and France.
The space plays host to a range of dedicated gin and whisky tastings and tours, as well as freely opening its doors to provide more informal exploration of the space. During its first year, Luss Distillery earned a five-star Tripadvisor rating and a 4.9 on Google Reviews. It was also awarded a five-star quality grading by the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions just months after opening.
To mark this first year of business, Luss Distillery is set to host a range of initiatives across 9 to 16 October from free bottle engraving to a Serve & Slice offer where visitors will be treated to a slice of birthday cake and a Ben Lomond Gin cocktail.
Furthermore, visitors will be able to benefit from 25% off all gin and whisky experiences and a 10% off all merchandise offer in the shop.
Tony Maclean, brand home manager at Luss Distillery, said: “It has been a whirlwind first year, and as I look back on the past 12 months, I am so proud of what we have built here.
“Luss Distillery is unlike anything else in Scotland. It is a place where the stories of whisky and gin are brought together under one roof, making it incredibly unique and appealing to visitors with very different interests. Our spectacular location on the banks of Loch Lomond undoubtedly plays a huge part in attracting visitors.”
