BOYZLIFE have been unveiled as the second headline act for the Scottish GroceryAid branch’s flagship Checkout Scotland music festival.

The duo consisting of Keith Duffy, from Boyzone, and Brian McFadden, from Westlife, will perform at the event in Glasgow, for which organisers have already announced Nathan Evans and The Saint Phnx Band as a headline act.

The pair formed Boyzlife a decade ago and what started as a four-week autobiographical story-telling show has grown into a huge international touring act, performing hits from both the 1990s and 2000s boy bands, which have a combined legacy of 21 No.1 hits from their respective bands.

So the audience at Checkout Scotland, which is taking place at the Barras Art & Design venue on 27 August from 4-11pm, can expect to hear hit after hit from the band.

Nathan Evans and The Saint Phnx Band will also headline at the festival.

Evans, from Airdrie, rose to fame via TikTok with his viral “Wellerman” sea shanty during the Covid pandemic. He teamed up with Glaswegian brothers Saint Phnx last year and they released their debut album, Angels’ Share, at the start of this year.

The festival will also feature DJ sets, various brand activations, food, drink and great networking opportunities.

Checkout Scotland brings together hundreds of people from across the convenience, grocery, wholesale and FMCG sectors to raise funds to support colleagues who need a helping hand – from financial aid to counselling.

Matthew Howie, co-chair of GroceryAid Scotland, has urged anyone interested in getting tickets, sponsorship opportunities or with any questions to contact him via the Matthew.Howie@groceryaid.org.uk email address. Tickets can also be purchased via the https://www.trybooking.com/uk/FJTJ website link.

Talking about Checkout Scotland last month, he said: “It’s shaping up to be another fantastic day. We’re also grateful to the businesses and partners who help to make events like this possible. If your organisation would like to explore ways to support Checkout Scotland and the incredible work of GroceryAid, I’d be delighted to have a conversation.

“We’d love to see you there for what promises to be an unforgettable day of great music, fantastic networking and making a real difference to our industry.”
