UK wholesaler shakes up senior leadership roles

UK wholesaler Bestway Wholesale has announced a range of new senior leadership appointments as Dawood Pervez moves to become the chairman of the firm.
Pervez, sound of Bestway’s founder Sir Anwar Pervez, moved into the chairman role from 1 July, with Naser Khan appointed as the new managing director of Bestway Wholesale.
Sir Anwar, chairman emeritus of Bestway Wholesale, said: “These appointments have been made on merit and reflect the Board’s confidence that under Dawood and Naser’s leadership, Bestway Wholesale will continue to grow, innovate and prosper for the benefit of future generations.
“I have every confidence that they will continue to drive the business forward, build agile and high-performing teams and ensure we remain well positioned to succeed in an ever-changing marketplace.”
The new appointments seek to maintain Bestway’s strong leadership capabilities, ensure further growth moving forward and can remain up-to-date with the times and respond to an ever-changing consumer landscape.
In addition to this, the new roles also mark part of a wider evolution for the firm’s leadership structure, says Bestway, and has been designed to support the scale and complexity of running the business in the modern day and match the expectations as it continues to grow across the wholesale, retail, catering and foodservice channels.
The news comes after the firm marked its 50th anniversary year in 2025 with a range of special promotions across its business. And when it comes to 2026, Bestway has already demonstrated its growth ambitions with the acquisition of family-run wholesaler Dee Bee Wholesale.
Further to these top roles, Bestway has also confirmed a number of other senior leadership appointments across the business to strengthen the executive leadership team and deliver across all of the business’ facets.
As part of these new appointments, Dan Lewis has been named as the new sales director of the firm; Zahir Fazaldin moves to the property & logistics director role; and Adina Bejenaru has been recognised as the new IT director for the firm.
Dawood Pervez said: “Bestway Wholesale has built its success on strong relationships, entrepreneurial spirit and an absolute commitment to helping independent businesses grow.
“As we look to the future, the needs of our customers, suppliers and colleagues continue to evolve, and it is essential that our leadership structure gives us the agility, capability and focus to meet those needs.
“These appointments and organisational changes reflect the strength of talent we have across the business and our continued commitment to investing in our people. I am delighted to be working closely with Naser and the wider leadership team as we build on our strong foundations and continue to drive Bestway forward.”
And speaking on his new role, managing director Naser Khan said: “Bestway Wholesale is entering an exciting new chapter. We have a strong platform, a clear growth strategy and a talented team across the business.
“Our focus remains on delivering exceptional service, value and support for our customers, while continuing to strengthen our partnerships with suppliers and create opportunities for colleagues to develop and progress.”
