Offering fresher drinking moments with Campo Viejo

WINE brand Campo Viejo has unveiled a new range of lighter wines with the introduction of its Contemporary duo.
Aiming to offer consumers a fresher drinking experience from the brand, the new Campo Viejo Contemporary comes in two variants with Blanco and Rosé as the brand seeks to offer a more modern expression of Spanish wine.
Each variant comes with a lower ABV of 10.5% and marks the first of its kind in Rioja wine to reflect the demand for lighter style drinks.

The wines have been developed through an extensive process of research and experimentation across recent harvests and have been crafted to achieve this lighter profile, says parent firm Vinarchy.
Campo Viejo’s winemaking team selected vineyards found at higher altitudes where the cooler night-time temperatures, later ripening and elevated acidity have helped to deliver a freshness to the wine along with the lower alcohol content.
The range will also seek to bring a new visual identity to the shelf for the Campo Viejo brand, with a contemporary bottle design that provides shoppers with a point of difference without losing the premium Spanish wine that consumers expect.
Each variant comes in a 750ml bottle with an ABV of 10.5% and an RRP of £9.50.
Lucy Bearman, global brand director at Vinarchy, said: “With Campo Viejo Contemporary, we’re delighted to bring something new to Campo Viejo wine lovers old and new, while tapping into the growing appetite for lighter wine styles and rosé.
“This range shows a lighter side of Spanish Rioja, while still carrying the quality and character people expect from Campo Viejo and the region.
“For retailers, that means a familiar name doing a new job in the fixture: bringing energy to lighter wine occasions, supporting discovery at shelf and giving Campo Viejo shoppers another reason to stay within the brand and for new shoppers to try the world’s no. 1 Rioja.”
