Premier, Londis and Budgens team up with Snodgrass

BOOKER Group’s retail symbols – Premier, Londis and Budgens – have partnered with former Scotland player Robert Snodgrass to encourage football fans to pick up their Fifa World Cup match-day essentials from their local convenience stores.
Snodgrass visited stores in Glasgow as part of efforts to help Booker’s symbol retailers maximise the huge revenue opportunity the tournament presents and drum up excitement for the months ahead.
The wholesaler believes the late-night kick-offs will see Scottish consumers stocking up on food and drink to enjoy at match-watching parties in their own homes or while visiting pals.
Booker plans to support retailers by offering new lines and familiar favourites to meet food-for-now and food-for-later shopping missions.
Robert Snodgrass, who was capped 28 times for Scotland, said: “To be competing on such an international stage is not something Scotland has been able to do very often in my lifetime. This makes this summer even more exciting.
“Being raised in Glasgow, there was a real community feeling in our estate and Scottish football fans won’t want to miss any of the action this summer.
“Having such great food and drink options on their doorstep, will not only allow viewers to watch all of the action, they’ll be supporting local stores in the process. We had a great day visiting the Premier, Londis and Budgens stores, and I’ll certainly be stocking up ahead of a massive summer.”
Booker Retail managing director Colm Johnson urged retailers to stock up on their best-sellers to encourage football fans to buy their essentials locally – whether for a planned or impromptu purchase.
He said: “With this activity, we’re letting Scotland fans know that Premier, Londis and Budgens stores can play a part in their preparations. We’re delighted to have Robert Snodgrass help us shout about our fantastic symbol stores and the brilliant product ranges they offer.”
