Marking a next step for Certas with Evolo charging

FUEL distributor Certas Energy has announced its new electric vehicle (EV) charging offer for forecourt stations across the UK.
Certas says the new Evolo Rapid Charge machine will seek to offer electric car drivers a fast, reliable and price-competitive EV charging service to suit motorist’s busy lifesytyles.
Each Evolo comes in a sleek blue and black colour scheme to help stand out on busy forecourts complete with an HD touch-screen that play animated graphics providing simple and straightforward user information, plus a choice of easy payment options including by card or via the service’s dedicated Evolo app.
The first owned and operated Evolo charging unit is currently under construction at a Gulf service station in Wales with the Ebbw Vale location. Found near a busy road and two miles from Brecon Beacons National Park, Certas believes the Gulf Site will soon welcome hundreds of EV motorists once the new facility has been installed.
With electric cars now accounting for 23.4% of new registrations in 2025, according to Zapmap.com, Certas believes sales for EVs for 2026 will only continue to grow and increase the need for fast, on-the-go charging hubs.
Gerry Welsh, head of e-mobility at Certas Energy, said: “We know first-hand how frustrating charging at service stations can be and were resolute that our EV offer needed to be simple to use with easy, straightforward payment options.
“We spent time researching and listening to EV drivers and businesses to find out what they want and need when it comes to charging their vehicles – and we believe Evolo is a first-class product designed to meet those needs. Evolo is, quite simply, charging made easy.”
