Store launch brings much-need Post Office back to locals

A NEW Co-op store has opened in Cruden Bay in the north eastern area of Scotland following an extensive investment programme into the village’s Post Office.

Following its closure in September 2025, the Post Office has now re-opened as part of the new Co-op shop that has taken over the previous shop on the site.
The extended convenience store now brings an enhanced range to locals in the village including a wide choice of fresh and chilled products, meal deals, food to go, Fairtrade options, ready meals, pizzas, fresh meats and dairy, chilled beers and wines, and everyday essentials.
The new store also boasts a Costa Coffee Express machine and an in-store bakery section stocked by north east bakers Murdoch Allan.
Now operated as a Co-op franchise store, locals will be able to benefit from unique discounts through the Co-op’s own suite of deals and promotions and Co-op members will also be able to save over and above this to create some additional value.

Young Scot cardholders will also receive discounts across the store to allow them to save on some cash, too.
The new Cruden Bay location follows on from a tranche of new openings for the Co-op across Scotland, including its latest opening in the Scottish Borders in time for Easter.
Kamran Tahir, manager of Co-op Cruden Bay, said: “Following an extensive investment programme to extend and enhance the existing store we are absolutely delighted to open our doors and welcome the community into their new Co-op and Post Office.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to serve and support the community, and we are committed to being part of local community life.
“We have a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone, along with a range of added services such as postal services and coffee – we look forward to welcoming the community into their new store.”
