Crisps brand Nik Naks has unveiled its hottest flavour yet with the launch of the new Xtra Hot ‘n’ Fiery variant to the snacks category.

CRISPS brand Nik Naks is set to turn up the heat for consumers with the launch of its new Xtra Hot ‘n’ Fiery flavour.

Set to deliver the brand’s spiciest flavour yet, the new product will hit shelves from 23 March in a 75g £1.35 price-marked pack.

Parent firm KP Snacks said the new variant aims to build on the success for Nik Naks Nice ‘n’ Spicy flavour with the Xtra Hot ‘n’ Fiery set to meet the growing demand for punchier, hotter flavours across bagged snacks.

Spicy flavours continue to perform well across the snacks category, with 51% of UK consumers stating they enjoy spicy food according to an Ipsos study. Nielsen has also reported that spicy crisps now account for 10% of the category’s total sales, growing year-on-year.

John McDougall, senior brand manager for the heritage portfolio at KP Snacks, said: “Nik Naks is a well-loved brand within CSN, and we’re excited to be expanding the range with the launch of Xtra Hot ‘N’ Fiery.

“The launch builds on the brand’s reputation for big, bold flavours, delivering an extra hot, fiery taste that responds to growing demand for spicier snacks. With spicy remaining one of the most popular flavours in the category and PMPs playing a key role in impulse purchasing, this new product offers retailers a critical opportunity to drive sales.”
