New Co-op stores to open in Stirling, Tarbet and Aberdeenshire

RETAIL chain Co-op has announced a further three stores set to open in Scotland following its 10th new store which opened in Gairloch.
The new announcement from Co-op comes part of a wider plan to open a total of 18 stores across the UK within the first quarter of 2026. Some of the number are re-opening following “transformative investments”.
The three stores set to open in Scotland include Co-op Killearn, Main Street in Stirling; Co-op Tarbet in Argyll; and Co-op Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire.
Co-op said these new stores will enable the retail chain to create local hubs for its customers across Scotland, providing good quality food and value alongside some added services.
The stores will house a coffee offer, bakery, Fairtrade products, fresh and healthy produce and other services such as payment services, parcel collection and returns and online home delivery.
Soft plastic recycling will also be available across the stores to make it easier for shoppers to return harder-to-recycle plastic materials in their communities.
Kate McCrae, Co-op operations director, said: “We’re focussed on creating local stores which are more than just a shop – they are a hub locally that contribute to local life and conveniently meet the needs of communities.
“Our stores have a focus on quality products and value for our members and customers, with a great range of deals and promotions on the items shoppers want to buy.
“I’m delighted to see our first new store of 2026 open in Oxfordshire, as we start 2026 with an active store opening programme to increase and enhance Co-op’s presence in high streets and communities all across the UK.”
