Scottish Wholesale Association and ScotGov pay tribute to wholesale sector

THE Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) has unveiled its new logo design as the firm paid tribute to hard work of food and drink wholesalers across the country.
The new logo was introduced at the SWA’s annual conference on 5 June as the firm’s chief executive, Colin Smith, noted the “invaluable voice of Scotland’s food and drink wholesalers”.
He said: “Our mission is to protect and advance our members and the sector, serving as the gateway to Scotland’s food and drink supply chain.
“We speak with knowledge, honesty and integrity, always placing our people at the heart of everything we do.”
With this in mind, the representative body unveiled its new logo along with a “refreshed purpose, mission and vision” as it looks to be a the driving force behind a well-connected, skilled and sustainable wholesale sector.
Smith said: “As part of the SWA rebrand, we will also be launching our new website this summer which will be a resource platform for our members and industry to share ideas and best practice, showcase the best of our industry, and signpost members to support.”
Members of Scotland’s wholesale sector were also invited to speak during the event as attendees heard from the likes of Sam Henderson, managing director of Lomond Fine Foods, who shared his firm’s journey towards their recent B-Corp accreditation.
Also participating in the event was Stephen Curran, wholesale director at AG Barr, Claire Rennie, founder of Summerhouse Drinks, Jason Butler, head of operations at United Wholesale Scotland, Lisa Byers, director of employment team at Burness Paull and Sonya Harper, central operations director at CJ Lang & Son.
Further to this, Mairi Gougeon, MSP for Angus North and Mearns, spoke during the event and also paid tribute to the hard work the sector puts in.
She said: “The economic contribution of this sector is significant – not just in terms of turnover and jobs, but in the resilience and reliability that your collective efforts bring to Scotland’s food and drink infrastructure.
“And at the centre of this work stands the SWA – a powerful voice and a trusted partner for the industry.”
