Kids biscuit brand Party Rings has unveiled its first ever new shape in its 42-year long history with the launch of the new Under the Sea Minis.

BISCUIT treats firm Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC) has unveiled a new addition to its Party Rings range with its new Under the Sea minis packs.

Marking the first time the brand has introduced a new shape in its 42-year history, the new Under the Sea minis offer the brand’s much-loved iced shortcake biscuits in fun fish shapes.

Available in packs of six for £1.50, the products will launch exclusively to Asda stores for 12 weeks from 24 April.

This latest move marks the next step in the brand’s mission to ‘live life in colour’, says FBC, with new products that provide a distinct format that is designed to attract family shoppers and boost overall basket spend.

As part of this mission, the brand has introduced a new “colour me in” design across it packs as part of the rollout for its new limited edition Strawberry flavoured Party Rings.

It also comes at a time of strength for the Party Rings brand. According to NIQ Total Coverage and Kantar Bargain Stores & Hard Discounters data, Mini Party Rings held a worth of £13.5million during the 52 weeks to 28 December and Kantar Total Market data found it to have a repeat purchase rate of 56% during the year to 23 February.

Robin Norton, head of category insight at FBC, said: “Under the Sea Minis is an exciting milestone for the Party Rings brand. It may be the first time we’re changing the format of the biscuits, but they come with the famous flavour and fun of traditional Party Rings.

“In initial testing, the products performed incredibly well with consumers, outperforming industry standards by 24% (Toluna), so we’re confident they will be a hit when they land on shelves later this month.”
