Single malts roll out across Scottish supermarket stores
TWO award-winning single malt brands are set to roll out across Tesco whisky ranges for the first time from Angus Dundee Distillers.
Rolling out from 16 April, the Glencadam American Oak Reserve and Tomintoul Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish will be available for purchase at more than 60 Tesco Extra stores and Tesco Superstore locations.
The Glencadam American Oak offers Tesco shoppers a dram that has been exclusively matured in hand-selected premium quality American oak ex-bourbon barrels that have been sourced from Kentucky in the United States, renowned for its bourbon production.
The resulting premium single malt comes with a sweet, tropical and orchard fruit style taste palate, with a smooth finish on the end. And the rollout of the new Glencadam dram comes as the distillery marks its 200th anniversary this year, with a new visitor centre set to open in Brechin this summer.
Meanwhile, the Tomintoul Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Cask Finish provides a small batch single malt that has been bottled in ex-bourbon American oak barrels before marrying and finishing in hand selected PX sherry butts sourced from Andalucía in Spain.
The resulting malt has been described as “beautifully rich, complex and full-flavoured,” and helps to mark Tomintoul’s 60th year of crafting whisky.
