Spar Renfrew shopper scoops £10k top prize

SPAR has unveiled the lucky shoppers who have grabbed the £10,000 Frozen Fortunes grand prizes, with the Scottish winner invited to Spar Renfrew to receive a cheque.
Abby McNicol, 25, won the grand prize in Scotland after she and her boyfriend used her account to redeem a token in Spar Renfrew, entering her into the grand prize draw.
Speaking on this massive win, Abby said: “I was completely in shock to start with. All I could do after I had the phone call was sit on the floor and I just couldn’t get up.
“My mum even said that I had just gone completely pale after I finally managed to tell her!”
The Frozen Fortunes competition has been a resounding success for Spar retailers across the country, with shoppers across the length and breadth of Scotland redeeming tokens for free food and drink and money-off vouchers.
Spar Renfrew topped the league for Independent stores, with a whopping 787 redemptions in total.
Spar Condorrat followed with 506 redemptions and Spar Dornoch took home the bronze medal with 310 redemption.
Spar Eastriggs, Dumfriesshire, led the way for the company-owned estate with a total 750 redemptions, while Spar Annan and Spar Bathgate followed on with 596 and 533 redemptions respectively.
CJ Lang also noted just how widespread the coverage was for the competition, with redemptions covering rural areas as well as larger population hubs.
As for Abby, she has set her eyes on a massive trip to the Far East with her mum along with some savvy investments towards household bills.
She said: “I want to make sure the house is covered first and cover off any expenses that we didn’t have the money for until now but, after that, I want to take my Mum to Japan and Korea.”
