Truly Scottish treat rolls out across Aldi locations
AYSHIRE-BASED Indian foods producers Punjab Pakora has launched a new Square Sausage Pakora to deliver a uniquely Scottish treat this Burns Night.
Available in Aldi stores across Scotland, the spicy take on the Scottish breakfast staple is exclusive to the discounter with a price of £1.99 per pack of six pieces.
The bite-sized square sausage treats come with a spicy tomato and chilli dip, offering a bold kick for this Burns Night for those shoppers seeking something a bit more unique to the side of their Suppers.
This marks the latest team up between Punjab Pakora and Aldi, as the Ayrshire firm has previously developed a special beer batter pakora as well as iron brew pakora for the discounter in the past.
And the Indian foods firm has announced its Iron Brew Pakora will be back on shelves in the near future, with its Cauliflower Bites set to become a permanent addition to Aldi stores from March.
Dhruv Duggal, director at Punjab Pakora, said: “We’re excited to unveil our newest creation for Aldi stores, bringing together a perfect fusion of classic Scottish flavour with a twist.
“The Aldi Scotland team are fantastic partners, sharing our passion for delivering innovative, high-quality products to customers. With an exciting line-up of launches for this year, we’re delighted to kick things off with a unique taste experience for everyone to enjoy this Burns Night.”
Graham Nicolson, group buying director at Aldi Scotland, said: “This year, we’re toasting the innovation of our suppliers for Burns Night. Punjab Pakora is consistently thinking of new ways to excite and delight customers, and we know this latest offering will go down an absolute treat with them.
“Working closely with our suppliers across the country, our buying team are always on the look-out for exciting new products that capture the imagination and showcase the best Scotland has to offer while delivering great value to our customers.”
