We highlight new products that Scottish c-store retailers might want to stock
1. Italian wine brand Belorante from Treasury Wine Estates
TREASURY Wine Estates (TWE) is set to bring some extra colour to dining tables with the launch of its Italian wine brand Belorante.
With a vibrant design and distinctive peacock emblem, the Italian brand offers a range of variants.
This consists of its Belorante Grillo Italia and Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOC, which both sit at a price of £9 per bottle.
Meanwhile, the remainder of the range comes at the slightly higher £10 per bottle, with the Belorante Pecorino and 2022 Italia Primitivo.
TWE said it aims to respond to a growing demand in the UK through Belorante, as Italian wine is the second largest category in wine in the UK grocery market, according to Nielsen data.
Amy Fisher, senior brand manager at Belorante, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching Belorante into the UK, inspired by the effortless style, attitude and vivaciousness of the Italian way.
“Belorante is all about bringing colour to your table and flavour to your glass, Italian style.
“Belorante is a bold, modern reinvention of Italian wine, bringing colour, freshness and modernity into the Italian wine aisle, inviting consumers to stray away from the neutral and be more ‘peacock’.”
2. Biona Thai Red Curry Paste
ORGANIC food supplier Biona has rolled out its new Thai Red Curry Paste to the market.
Available to retailers now, the medium-hot curry paste has an RRP of £3.39 per jar and has been crafted to suit different diets, including vegans.
Carmen Ferguson, brand manager at Biona’s parent company Windmill Organics, said: ”We’re pleased to launch this Thai Red Curry cooking paste as it is well aligned to meet growing consumer demand for scratch cooking and vibrant flavours from further afield.
“We know consumers are looking for high-quality organic versions of their usual store cupboard ingredients, so this launch should really hit the spot.”
3. Purity Soft Drinks Juice Burst Apple
FRUIT juice firm Purity Soft Drinks has expanded the distribution for its Juice Burst Apple variant.
The brand’s bestselling flavour is now available across Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons Daily stores as well as Iceland locations.
The new listings follow on from what Purity called the “soaring popularity” for apple flavoured drinks across the category.
Sarah Baldwin, chief exec at Purity Soft Drinks, said: “We’re delighted by the success we’ve seen for apple in the market, and the vote of confidence shown by our retailer partners who are stocking the brand in more stores for their shoppers.”
