CONFECTIONERY firm Golden Casket has marked an impressive 65 years of crafting sweets for the UK and beyond this year.

Best known for brands like the premium Buchanan’s range, the pocket friendly All Rounders, and the world-renowned Millions, the firm began in 1959 in Greenock and has since grown into a much-loved brand, all while retaining its personal, family-run touch.

Golden Casket has since expanded to include three generations of family members and the business remains as dedicated to quality and tradition as ever.

Crawford Rae, son of founder Douglas Rae, began the manufacturing side of the business in Greenock over 40 years ago. Rae said that “reaching 65 years is something we’re incredibly proud of”.

“Creating sweet sensations is in our family’s DNA, we have a magnificent team, many of whom have been with us through the entire journey and we genuinely wouldn’t be where we are today without their invaluable support and commitment.”

For Golden Casket, success also means thinking about the future. The company has taken on the challenge of reducing its environmental footprint by exploring sustainable packaging and responsible sourcing, ensuring that their sweets taste as good for the planet as they do on the tongue.

Rae said: “As a company, we are incredibly ambitious which will be reflected in new products which will be hitting the shelves in 2025. In a world of big corporate names, it’s the quality of our products and our story that set us apart.”

As the firm celebrates this milestone year, Golden Casket said it would like to thank its customers, team, and partners for helping make 65 years of sweetness possible.

A legacy of tradition, innovation, and sustainability, Golden Casket is proud to remain one of Scotland’s favourite sweet makers. Here’s to many more!
