NEW 1kg bags of sweets have rolled out to Spar stores across Scotland, England and Wales, offering an extra exclusive touch of nostalgia.

Available in selected stores from 31 October, Spar has worked alongside packaging firm Uniflex to roll out the new extra-large bags of confectionery to help drive up extra sharing sales for the symbol group’s stores across Britain.

Available in two varieties – Jelly Mix and Fizzy Mix – the new 1kg bags feature a wide selection of popular sweets including gummies, jellies and more.

The Jelly Mix contains lemon, strawberry, apple, cola, pineapple & orange flavours. Meanwhile, the Fizzy Mix contains strawberry, sour cherry, cola, orange, pineapple, lemon and apple flavoured sweets with a sugary coating.

Designed with convenience in mind, the 1kg bags are resealable to help keep the sweets fresh for longer and make them an ideal option for snacking on-the-go, or for on the couch.

The new Pick ‘N’ Mix bags come with an RRP of £4.99 each.

Gemma Turner, UK trading manager at Spar, said: “We wanted to bring the joy of Pick ‘N’ Mix back to our shoppers, making it easier for families and friends to share their favourite sweets in a convenient, large-format bag.

“With this new 1kg pack, sweet lovers looking for the perfect sharing or gifting option, can enjoy a variety of their favourite treats.”

Rebecca Maloney, client relations manager at Uniflex, said: “We are delighted to have these two vibrant and exciting mixes exclusively at Spar stores.

“They deliver great value for sharing and parties and make for perfect treats. Both mixes are soft, chewy and colourful, with the Fizzy Mix adding a tangy, sour hit.

“Plus, the resealable pouches mean shopper can dip in and out and come back whenever they want more.”
