Spar Scotland has announced the return of its Christmas time promotional activity Big Deals of Christmas, promising shoppers massive promotions on major brands.

SPAR Scotland’s national brand campaign Big Deals of Christmas has returned for 2024, promising bigger than ever deals.

Launching in Spar Scotland stores on 17 October, the annual campaign promises massive promotional offers to help drive up spend across the symbol’s stores in Scotland during the Christmas season.

Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang & Son said the campaign will feature “market-leading” promotional offers across some major brands, ensuring more shoppers can enjoy plenty of festive treats during the season at “unbeatable prices”.

Paula Middleton, head of marketing at Spar Scotland, said: “We are delighted to bring back the Big Deals of Christmas for a second year. The Big Deals campaign is all about giving our shoppers great offers un the run-up to Christmas and supports one of Spar’s key strategic pillars of delivering value on your doorstep.

“Launching this footfall-driving marketing initiative is crucial, especially at this time of the year. It helps our Spar retailers attract more customers, boosting sales and ensuring they remain competitive during the busy holiday season.”

Running until 1 January 2025, Spar retailers will be able to benefit from the massive range of deals during the Christmas period and help drive up more visits to their stores.

The Christmas campaign will also be supported by a national media plan including TV advertising on STV, in-store POS displays, digital screen promotions, social media support and an E-Blast collaboration with the Scottish Football Association. A specially wrapped Spar lorry will also be travelling across Scotland.

Further to this, Spar retailers are encouraged to get into the festive spirit as well and engage with the campaign’s social media content which will see the Santa and his elves, Norty and Näice, back for another year to help spread Christmas cheer.

And this generous spirit will move beyond the shop floor, as CJ Lang will also undertake a range of community and charity-based activities to help support local organisation during the key holiday season.

Middleton said: “We are proud to support the local communities around our stores. Over the next three months, we will be involved in Christmas carol concerts in Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.

“We are also continuing to support the Bank On Us foodbank campaign with the Glasgow Times, donating Spar mince pies and providing Spar vouchers to Marie Curie hospices across Scotland. Finally, we are running a social media competition where care homes in Scotland can win a Christmas party on us.

“Supporting local charities at this time of the year not only spreads joy to those in need but also strengthens the bonds within our community.”
