Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats has expanded further on its range of canned flavoured milk drinks with the launch of its new Milky Way flavoured variant.

MARS Chocolate Drinks and Treats (MCD&T) has expanded further on its range of milk drinks with a new canned format with the new Milky Way Milk Drink 250ml can.

Aiming to build on MCD&T’s commitment to more sustainable packaging solutions, the new 250ml can follows on from the introduction of the new canned formats for Mars and Galaxy milk drinks.

Available in cases of 12 x 250ml cans, the new range is available in the convenience channel as well as Iceland and Morrisons stores now with an RSP of £1.25 per can.

The milk drink combines the taste of Milky Way chocolate bars with a smooth milk says MCD&T that can be stored ambient but are best served straight from the chiller.

The launch of a new canned format for the Milky Way Milk Drink comes at an ideal time as IRI data found an 11.9% annual growth for the flavoured milk category, showcasing a clear demand for the sector in stores.

Further to this, milk drinks from Mars have amassed annual sales of £18.5million in the year to 6 July.

Michelle Frost, general manager at MCD&T, said: “The can format allows us to offer a more sustainable choice that’s easier for consumers to recycle.

“In addition to its sustainable properties, the range of cans are also suitable for vegetarians, have no added sugar and are non-HFSS.

“We are looking to extend the range available in cans beyond Mars, Milky Way and Galaxy in 2025.”
